I haven't posted here in a long time. Since I don't have many friends here I forget to check OH when I get online... I pretty much hang out on Facebook most of the time so if anyone would like to add me there (if your already on my friends list here or not) feel free to send me a friends request. Just make sure you let me know you're from OH. Anyway... I had my surgery Oct. 18th with Dr. De La Torre in Columbia, Mo at Missouri Bariatric Services. It went well for the most part aside from all the pain. I've lost 31 lbs since surgery and am feeling pretty good for the most part. However, I'm having issues with motivation and depression. As far as I know there are no support groups here in Joplin and I don't get alot of support here at home. I'd like to find a group to get involved in or a few local WLS friends for friendship and support.

Psych Evaluation

Had the first part of my psych evaluation for the gastric bypass today... it went well. I have two more appointments this week and next to finish that up and then on May 12th I have my sleep study and all of my pre approval testing will be done and out of the way. So happy that it's all going so well =).... My first appt. w/ Missouri Bariatrics is just a month away.... I can hardly wait!

My first appt. w/ Missouri Bariatrics is May 26th... I am so excited I can barely wait! I've already taken a little initiative and gotten the ball rolling on my Psych evaluation (set for April 20th) and saw my primary Dr today and he's got all of my tests except for the sleep study set up for April 12th & 14th. He said he'd get that set up after he got the results of all the other tests back. Hopefully that will help in making the process a little bit faster once I have my first appt with Mo. Bariatrics.

Beginning the Journey...

Well A couple of weeks ago I contacted Missouri Bariatric Services in Columbia, Mo. about having a Gastric Bypass. They sent me to their website to watch an online siminar and to take a test. I did that and they contacted me today to set up my first appointment. I go see them on the 26th of May. I am so excited I can hardly wait! If there is anyone else out there that has gone through Missouri Bariatric Sevices I would love to hear about your experience with them and what I should expect along my journey to a skinny, happier, and healthier me =)
