UCLA Medical Center

"The hospital it self was OK-my post-op room was way too small. and my roommate was in a diaper-pooing and stanking-other than that the nursing staff was cool "

"My first impression was-he's busy!-I was one of the last patients to be seen that day-he seemed rushed-nice, but rushed. He had a intern with him-so the intern did most of the work, like asking me all the questions. My impression didn't change much- the same thing happened in my pre-op appt. I felt like it was a "business",instead of a caring doctor. The office staff was nice. On the morning of surgery he came to see me and said "Are you sure you still want to have the surgery?" I said "yes" he said "see you in the OR." and that was the last time I saw him- He never came to visit me in the hospital-just interns and residents-who don't know a whole lot. The UCLA program is very structured. I learned alot from the classes they offered pre-op. The risk was addressed by given me a paper and saying- "read this, any questions?" On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest)- He gets a 10-I here!!! with absolutely no complications. so for me Surgicsl Competence is better than bedside manner. He had a job to do and he did it! "
