David Fischer

"Dr. Fischer is truely a wonderful surgeon and a great person. I adore him and am so thankful I picked him to do my surgery. He always makes me feel valued and like my questions are important even though I know he has probaly heard them a million times. Even if it is in the middle of the night he is more than willing to help out. :)"

"I have no complaints whatsoever about my surgeon. I went in for my surgery on 1/13/04 expecting to have a lap RNY. During the surgery my surgeon was not 100% satisfied with what he coudl see so he ended up opening me up at the last minute to be safe...with this I cannot complain. I was not totally happy with the hospital though. After my surgery I was left in the ICU for over 6 hours not because I needed it but because they did not have a portable IV unit on hand. During this time I was drugged and scared and my family was not permitted to come visit me for the most part even when I cried. During the rest of my stay there were times that I was close to hyperventalating because I was extremely drugged (on moraphine and another pain med because of extra pain due to fibromyalgia) and I could breathe because I was having an asthma attack, I could not get the nurse to understand that I could not take a breathing treatment and I needed a mask. They also did not have support hose big enough and I ended up getting cuts around my ankles and knees where I still have scars. With all this said there were a couple nurses that were very caring and my surgeon did everything possible to make my stay comfortable and to make sure I was OK. After surgery my surgeon would even call me at home in the middle of the night if I needed him. Overall it was a good place to have my surgery and I would choose them again despite everything. "
