Lee A. Schmitt (COE)

"My first impression of Dr. Schmitt was that he was a caring doctor who actually had a personality. I adore him! He always makes me smile. Just a little note on his bedside manner: He has the driest sense of humor and he is always cracking jokes. For example: I was TERRIFIED of having my staples removed at 7-10 days post-op. I was sitting on the edge of the bed and he came in all smiles and giving me a high five because I had lost whatever amount of weight and asked what was wrong. I told him I was scared and he said "Well, don't worry about it- this won't hurt me at all." I just looked at him in disbelief and couldn't help but laugh. I told him it wasn't him I was worried about but me. Anyway, when he was finished removing them, he said "Do you recall how many staples you had?" I told him yes I had 14 and he said (as he counted them) "well good I got them all." He is just so funny. I feel very confident in his abilities as a surgeon and would definatly use him again for any surgerical need. I do highly recommend him for gastric bypass to anyone who asks me. He is very much a supporter of protein supplements and is very knowledge about the benefits of using protein supplements. He always explains his reasons behind why he wants you to do something, not 'Just because'. Also, he is so willing to answer any and all questions you have. I have seen him many times since surgery at either my follow up visits, WLS seminars and support group meetings and he never fails to speak. It's a great feeling to know your surgeon actually CARES about YOU. "

Pro-Cal 100

"I use this powder at home to make a creamy treat. I take one package of powder, one cup of skim milk and add frozen fruit to taste. It has about 23-25 grams of protein per serving and makes a great treat. "

Bariatric Advantage

"I use the Chocolate Chewable Calcium Citrate and the Strawberry Chewable Iron supplements. I LOVE THEM!! The Chewable Calcium is a great treat- also comes in Mint to help freshen your breath!!"
