I'm back and grateful to be here.

I have a long detailed profile in the old format and don't know how to transfer the information.  I'm sure most of you will not know me but I plan on being around alot and look forward to making new friends.  I was banded on October 31, 2005 and was doing well with my progress except during ovulation because I couldn't eat solid foods 5-10 days a month; however, my nurse was working with me closely to keep my nutrition needs met.

On February 28, 2006 my son made a decision that will impact mine and my families lives forever; he chose to participate in an activity commonly called the "choking game" while we were not home.  My SO and I came home and thought Adam was asleep in the closet instead of doing chores to get ready to go to the movies, we were terribly wrong.  Adam was dead!  If you haven't been informed about the choking game please go to www.gaspinfo.com and learn the warning signs and get the pamphlets that you can print out and use them to talk to the child/children in your life.

The next day, I had to have an emergency unfill because I could no longer swallow water because of the stress and had put my weight loss journey on hold.  It has been almost 5 years of Hell living without my pride and joy.  I miss Adam every moment of the day but I'm at a point in my life where I'm ready to give my all to this journey emotionally, physically, psychologically, spiritually.  I need this journey to aid me in the healing process, I need to grow and become the mom that Adam imagined me becoming when we decided I was going to have WLS.

My sister and I joined the local rec center a couple weeks ago and we plan to keep working out 3-4 days at the gym and the rest of the week at home.  I called a local doctor today and have an appointment for January 25th so I can get a fill, woo hoo!

Have a Blessed day,
Amber, Adam's Mommy
