Carol Elias

"While she has not had much experience in weight loss surgery patients, I found her to be a very good listener. She also wanted to know alot about my past, and what leads me to overeat. Additionally, she made sure she gave me a few reality checks, explaining that it was stil about me and about making the right choices. She also highly recommends continued counseling for overall well-being after the surgery."

Methodist Hospital Arcadia

"I had the best experience at Arcadia Methodist. They have the friendliest staff, the cleanest facility and the best overall care I've ever experienced. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a local hospital. The staff was always helpful, friendly and very accomodating. I had a different nurse and nurse's assistant every 12 hours, and it seemed that each set was even more wonderful the previous set (if that was possible). I'm thrilled to have had my surgery there and would look to them again if the need ever arose."

Peter Yanes

"He seems to be very knowledgeable in post-op teeth care and is a great listener. His staff is also wonderful."

David Martin

"I first saw Dr. Martin at the symposium this group holds in Arcadia, CA. He spoke along with Dr. Pehrsson and Dr. LaMar. I thought he was very articulate and extremely easy on the eyes :) That, of course, was not the reason I booked my consultation with him. Of the 3, he had the first available appointment. I met Dr. Martin personally on February 18th, and my impression of him didn't change much, except that he made me feel very much at ease that I had made the right choice. Nicole (the coordinator)was extremely helpful, and knowledgeable since she had the surgery 4 years ago. Pat was also very helpful. I worried that Dr. Martin seemed so young, but my worries were put to rest after we had our one-on-one. It still made me feel better when he informed me that these surgeries are usually performed by 2 surgeons. Dr. Martin explained how important it is to remember that this surgery IS a tool, and that aftercare was essential for the program to be a success. The group has a very structured after-care program..he highly recommended support groups BEFORE as well as after surgery...he said that they are just as essential to my success. As they did during the symposium, Dr. Martin again reminded me of the risks of surgery (I wish now that I had asked him to go into more detail...)and he answered every one of my questions without hesitation. I never felt rushed. He was extremely patient. Overall, I am glad I chose Dr. Martin and this group of surgeons. At the behest of my best friend, I had scheduled an appointment with my general practitioner...to discuss this surgery. I was a little more than surprised that he highly recommended this group of doctors (this was something he told me BEFORE I informed him of which surgeons I chose). To me, surgical competence will always be better, but with luck, you get both competence and an awesome bedside manner! I pray that I may be that lucky!! "
