I have been battling with my weight since I was about 8yrs old. I have lost weight, gained weight over and over again. I thought about gastric bypass surgery for a long time and talked to a few friends who had it. I really didn't consider it seriously until my doctor talked to me about it. He told me to think about it especially since my blood pressure is so bad that I'm on two meds plus a dyretic for it along with other meds, sleep apnea, depression, etc. He got the ball rolling and here I am! I know it's going to be a tough journey but I think of the outcome. I WILL BE ALIVE to see my son graduate high school and college and grand kids - God willing! I'm a single mom with one son. My son is 16 and I am so proud of him. We've been on our own since he was 2 and it's been tough but we've made it this far. I've talked to my son about my surgery and he is very supportive. My mother is also supportive and my friends are too. That is going to help!
Most of my high school years I was a 13/14. When I got married in 1990 my wedding dress was an 18 but I was wearing 14/16 clothes. Now many years later I am up to a 28/30 & 32's.
