In all my 35 years, I had never had any real health problems other than being extremely overweight no matter what age I was. I had decided that weight loss surgery was for me and began my journey in Findlay, Oh at a weight loss clinic. I did the run-around my insurance required for six months. In September of 2008, I had a CT scan which revealed a enlarged gall bladder, kidney stones, and a huge tumor on my left ovary. Needless to say, two days later the gall bladder was removed, followed two weeks later by the left ovary, fallopian tube and the benign tumor. Two weeks after my last surgery, my surgeon was fired and I had to choose another clinic. I decided on The Center for Weight Loss in Bowling Green, Ohio. Dr. Lalor took me on and was great from the beginning. I'm not one who likes to be coddled and comforted all the time. I would much rather be told straight up what the problem is or isn't. He decided right away that a sleeve gastrectomy would be best for me, followed by a bypass (if necessary) after a year. He performed the surgery on January 14, 2009 and its been a winning battle for me ever since.
