My conversion LapBand to Sleeve

Mar 10, 2018

Surgery went well, everything was by the book. The surgeon told me I had a lot scar tissue pushing the band/stomach towards the liver and he had to work hard to clean it all up, but thank God everything was fine and he was able to remove the LapBand and do the Sleeve in two and a half hours.

The first day I was totally sleepy, no pain at all, only normal discomfort, but I don't remember too much. I was in my room by 5pm, and by 9pm I was walking the hallway.

The second day, still sleepy because of the morphine, so I requested to change to another medication and I started to feel better. I think this was the worst part: during the swallow test I only could do 3 sips, in the third I started having severe nausea, and during the day I coudn't sip more than 2 sips wihouth feeel a lot of pressure in my chest.

The third day, I started to feel sooo much better and finally returned home. I started my walking/sipping, I can only tolerate 4oz of a protein shake at each meal, but I think it's fine. Trying my best to reach the 64oz of liquids!

Today is my fourth day and the only thing that really bothers me is the tube drain. Hopefully, next Tuesday when I reach my first week they will remove it.
