I had my VSG June 10, 2013. Surgery went well, successful weight loss of a total of 137 lbs. 

No negative side effects and no complications. Diabetes went away. Asthma meds decreased. Sleep Apnea gone. C-PAP gone. 

No regrets. Would do it again. Feel wonderful Regained my mobility and all normal functions and activities. 

HI ALL-IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I'VE BEEN HERE THAT I COULDN'T EVEN REMEMBER HOW TO POST  - BUT HERE i AM. 

I'VE BEEN RELEASED FROM THE BARIATRIC PROGRAM, MET MY TARGET WEIGHT, AM BEING REFERRED TO THE SURGEON, AND NOW WAITING FOR HIS OFFICE TO CALL ME WITH AN APPOINTMENT - DON'T KNOW HOW LONG i CAN WAIT - BUT WILL TRY FOR 2=3 WEEKS SO I DON'T BECOME A NUISANCE. 

i LOVED GETTING MESSAGES FROM EVERYONE WHO SENT THEM - WILL GET BACK TO PEOPLE EVENTUALLY - BUT HAVE TO LEAVE NOW FOR AN APPT.

In December 2010 I weighed my highest ever, 384 lbs. Over 2011 I was in a small local group weight loss challenge and lost 60 lbs, down to 324. The group ended at the end of 2011 and my next goal was to lose 50 lbs over 2012. I did not. In fact I lost another 10 lbs down to 314, then I started to yoyo again. All of 2012 I fought to maintain my 60 lbs weight loss. Recently over the 2012 holidays I completely lost my battle, and now am up to 342 again. I first started exploring WLS in 2004 but my personal goal has always been to take off the weight through healthy eating and exercise - if only I would be stronger, more determined, more self-loving - you name it. It's been a long road and about 3 yrs ago I seriously began to explore WLS as an option, only to quit after 2011 weight loss, and to restart the process sometime in 2012. I've finally accepted I need more help and it would be a huge gift to myself to have the WLS. I've dragged my feet over gastric bypass because of the malabsorption factor, and I recently learned about the Sleeve. Relief came over me and as early as yesterday I've made the decision to pursue the tool of VSG.
