I have an older profile on this page that gives you an idea of what my journey has been over the two years since my laparascopic RNY on June 13, 2005.  It has been nothing short of phenomenal.  In April of this year, just three months ago, I took the next step and had a brachioplasty (got rid of the batwings) and a lower body lift.  These surgeries and the recovery from them has been different from any other surgery I have had and it is taking alot longer to recover, but I'm getting there.  The plastic surgery took off 12 pounds and I dropped from a size 14 to a size 10/12.  It has been very exciting.  I can't remember the last time I had a flat stomach, or the last time I could confidently wear a sleeveless top.  I am much more confident and enjoying life.  I have finally gotten out on dating websites and am looking forward to that adventure.  If you are reading my profiles for the first time and are contemplating the surgery I would say GO FOR IT and NEVER LOOK BACK!  Life is just waiting for you to jump back into the game and to stop standing on the sidelines watching.  I always kind of felt like I was invisible when I was fat.  Now men really look AT ME and notice me.  It is so totally cool I can't even begin to describe the feeling.  I just had by 2-year checkup with my bariatric surgeon and the labs look great, except I need to step up the calcium.  I can do that.  Otherwise I continue to take all my vitamins and do what I should in terms of eating and exercise.  I haven't completely won the war, as I have to find the hunger and the desire to snack, but I'm making more good decisions every day.  Life is GOOD!!!
