June 27, 2008 was my first official visit to Dr. Oh's office. My insurance does not cover bariatric surgery so I am paying for this myself. I was surprised at how quick the visit went. Dr. Oh asked me many questions, listened to my heart and lungs and then said his nurse would meet with me to make appointments and set a surgery date. That was it. No discussion on "this is a big step, are you sure you want to do this, etc". Maybe he'll get to that another time. I attended his free seminar and also went to one at Valley Medical Center so I do know the risks and sort of what to expect. The office staff was nice and everyone in the lobby was talking about their experiences. Can't believe I'm on my way!
