Well, where do I start? From the begining I guess......I have been overweight all of my life. I can remember back to my elementary years being tormented due to my weight. I was always active any thru all my school age years I competed in sports and a very high level. But being so heavy did nothing for my self esteem, confidence, or self acceptance.

I weighed about 230 my freshman year of high school and 260 by my senior year. After graduation I met the love of my life and two years later I had my son. I was about 300 at delivery. I told my self after delivery that this was "the time" to lose weight. Since all other million attemts had failed. Well that lasted a short time. I remained about 290 until I became pregnant again with my daughter. I was about 330 when I delivered her. Again I thought, nows "the time". Again I failed.

Soon after this my Mom was going thru the process of weight loss surgery, I was SO interested in her situation. My Mom was not nearly as larger as me, only weighing about 250. I never really saw her as "big" since I was a lot heavier but I supported her all the way. She had her surgery, gastric bypass, and now it healthy, happy and full of life.

After that  I looked into my insurance plans and found out mine didn't cover any surgery but my husbands could. I began my "pathway" in Ocotber of 2008 while my husband was deployed in Iraq. I went thru all the classes, appointments and sipulations and was granted my gastric bypass surgery on July 17, 2009.

I am about 3.5 months post surgery and down 85 pounds!! I still have a long journey ahead, but I am certainly on my way.
