Hi. My name is Amber, I am 28 years old and I live in Texas. I have type 1 or type 2 diabetes and on an insulin pump for treatment. I am severely overweight and was wondering about having gastric bypass surgery. I have a lot of concerns about this surgery. I have not seen a dr about the surgery or anything yet. I am waiting to go see my diabetes dr and talk more about it with him. I am just scared about having surgery in general. I was very nervous about my gallbladder surgery. But there is definately a flip side to this surgery. My diabetes goes away and I lose all my weight. Sounds easy to do but is it really easy?? My neighbor had the surgery done and she looks so much better than me right now. She has lost alot of weight. But I still do not know if I want the surgery or not. I also suffer from depression about my weight my disease and how my sister is always telling me how she needs to lose weight cause she is so fat! I just don't know what else to do. I do not get any diet or weightloss support from my husband but he really wants me to do the surgery.  But he is going to lose some weight too. I just want anyone's outputs!
