Almost 11 months Post op
Nov 11, 2007
I feel great but am struggling with body image. I still see a 240 pound person when I look in the mirror. I am desperately trying to work through this. I have much more energy and desire to run and play with the kiddos. That was my ultimate goal. I am below my doctor's preferred weight of 150. My personal goal is 135. Maybe I will find a happy medium. Take care and best wishes!

Current weight - 167
Current size - 8/10, medium t-shirts
Goal weight - 125
Goal size - 4/6
I really need to step up the exercise. I find that walking and swimming are the easiest for me but know that I should add some weight training as well. I also find myself snacking a bit and the head hunger is sneaking in. Chin up....slow and steady wins the race.
Take care my friends.

1 Month Post Op
Jan 14, 2007
Today is my 32nd birthday and I am 1 month post op. I have lost 25 pounds to date. I am losing inches faster than pounds. There are days when I can't eat anything except SF popsicles and soft foods but I m trying very slowly to add more protein to my diet. I think I am to the point of adding in Slim Fast carb control shakes. I recently saw some family members who I had not seen I a while. One of them commented that I was losing my butt! I was also called baggy butt and told I shouldn't get much smaller. Those comments made me feel good, but I plan on losing another 60 to 70 pounds. My personal goal is 135 (which may be a bit unrealistic)! My surgeon's goal is 150. I will try to update at least monthly.

On the mend

I am now officially a "loser". I am 4 days post-op and have lost 10 pounds. Only 80 more to go until I reach my goal. The surgery and recovery was relatively easy. I just have to make myself drink because I feel that I am dehydrated. I am still on liquids until the 20th..this has been the worst part. I hope you are doing well with your journey. Hugs.

Nervous as the day nears
Dec 10, 2006
I met with my surgeon on 12-6-06 for the final clearance. The next time I see him will be 12-14-06 at 11 a.m. for SURGERY!!! WOW! I am so nervous and need to get so many things taken care of. Luckily I did a lot of housework today. My mom in law will be here the day after my surgery so she will help the hubby with the kiddos. I am cramming 5 days of work into 3 this week so maybe the time will pass faster, The only thing that sucks is that I have only been at my job for 4 months and do not have vacation time or sick days so I am hoping to be back full speed on the 20th. Am I crazy?

Speed bump...not a road block

Progress has been delayed, but only temporarily. My pathology reports will not be back until the end of the week. I am now scheduled for surgery on December 14th. Actually this works out better because I was on call the week I was originally scheduled. A door never closes without a window being open. Happy Holidays to all.
