8 year anniversary

Jul 12, 2009

I had my surgery 8 years ago and still no regrets. I feel fantastic. I still suffer dumping syndrome but as I have said before, it is a great learning tool to have. I still struggle to get all my protein and water in but just the same I try. I am a pro at reading labels now and still abide by the 7/7/20 rule and have kept all my weight off. I did however become severly anemic. My doctor was convinced it was not surgery related. This past fall I underwent a hysterectomy and am healthier than ever. I feel better today than I did at 40. Congradulations to all who had the courage to go through with the surgery and for those of you still considering the procedure, its not an easy road to go down. Its not just the food, your head has more to do with it than you realize. If your facility is offering pre and post op counseling, take advantage of it, you will be more successful in the long run.
