8/4/00 just stopped in to leave a quick note that I am fine, home, and doing well..recovery is slow (I want to be better yesterday).LOL.....the staff was wonderful at AMH and I will come back as I get stronger to give you all the details of my trip......so good to be post op now...

8/26.....NEWEST UPDATE I am doing great....went to Dr. Oh Thursday and have lost 19.5 lbs in 3 weeks and 3 days...WOW I am thrilled I can see the weight coming off already. Yes I do have a neck LOL scar is doing great, just a fine pink line.....eating regular foods now but very small amounts.. Very few problems except that I have to remember to chew everything well. have some problems with drinking cold drinks but live on hot decaf tea.soooooo glad to be off the liquid zantac....that stuff was so bad.. well that's all for now...will update again soon

12/09...UPDATE....WOW it has been awhile..feeling so good that I take very little time at the computer. I am busy living life. Am now over 4 months post-op and have lost almost 60 lbs. We have started a support group here and in 3 months have gone from 8 members to almost 20. We have members from 4 different Dr.'s and both pre and post- ops. What a great group and it helps so much to have others that understand what you have done and how you feel. If anyone in the area wants info about our group please feel free to email me...... Merry Xmas to all.

02/21/02 Wow how time flies I submitted before and after (so far) pictures today so hope that they will be up on my profile soon. I am totally enjoyin my new life and would have the surgery again in a second....

06/23/02 think I should take time for a new update.....sorry it has been so long....I am now 10 days post op from hernia repair and adominalplasti and feeling better every day. and finally made it into the "normal" range for my BMI.. that was kinda kool to see. Dr. Oh was again my surgeon and I had the full treatment from the sternum to the pelvic and hip to hip opening. the upper for the hernia repair (caused by a fall in the supermarket a week after my Gastric bypass) and the lower for the extra skin from the weight loss. he removed 6 lbs of skin and tissue from the lower belly. I came home 2 days after surgery. I really didn't need any of the pain pump and just couldn't get comfortable. so at the cost of the stay why not go home and be uncomfortable for alot less. He. removed the drain tubes after 8 days (not fun ) and all the staples. I can now sleep better and shower so feel I am on the mend. I have had people (both post ops and non gastric bypass people) ask me if I would do it again and again I have to say OHH YAAAAAAAAAA feel funny to have a flat belly. take care everyone and God Bless

7/19/02 Just over 5 weeks post op from tummy tuck and what a difference 6 lbs of skin makes...........wow..... am now into a size 12 and they even have extra room....I love the way I feel and the way I look. I am now out of the binders for good (wow they were just a little uncomfortable in the heat......I am still numb in some spots but getting better every day....am sending in a photo of me post tummy tuck so it should be up on the site soon.....

7/31/02 wow can't believe that it has been 2 yrs. already....I am so happy with my life now and I can honestly say that WLS had alot to do with the changes I have made.. life is good.....I am very comfortable with my life and my body now and would do it all again......now I must address a problem I had this evening because I have been so open on this site about my surgery and displaying pics of myself....I received a phone call this evening for a male stating that he was an affiliate of my Dr and asking questions about my surgery and the results inches lost and such....I felt that something wasn't right but because I have okeyed with my Dr to have people call me I continued.....after thanking me for the info he proceeded to tell me what he would like to do to my "new" body........all I can say is I feel sorry for someone who has to call interstate to make harassing calls....."BRAD" you should be careful with all the new technology......caller ID is a wonderful thing....and if you call me again I will prosecute......but I will continue to do my best to help others to find their way to a healthier and happier way of life......

01-25-03 Its been a while since I have been here but life is busy...I will be 2 1/2 yrs the end of this month from my surgery and I can still say with a good feeling that I would do it all again and am happy to help anyone to get to the other side.........what a great feeling this is. I love the way I look and feel. I still find that I can't drink soda (the carbonation is just too much for my belly) I tend to go for better choices when I snack.... such as cheese, shrimp, or meats rather than chips and such. I now try to get to the gym at least twice a week. I have stabilized at a comfortable weight and very only about 5 lbs. My scar from the TT is starting to fade well. If anyone considering this surgery wants to ask me any questions feel free to email me. take care everyone and God Bless

7/8/03 Hard to believe that it will be 3 yrs this month.....wow how time flies when life is good. been a full year since my TT and I am still thrilled with the results. Have bought a used gym and set that up in the caller and using it 3 days a week and walking 5 days a week for at least an hour. I have found that the walking helps me clear my mind of all the garbage of the day and helps me stay away from the carbs. I stay more focused on what I eat when I exercise. Bought a two piece bathing suit but haven't gotten the chance to wear it yet. All in All life is wonderful and I want to thank Dr. Oh for giving my life back to me.....Take care and God Bless

7/29/04 OH My I finally remembered my password...........Life has changed 360o in the last year....finally got my divorce, met my soul mate, am now living with him and got engaged!!! life is absolutely awesome....... he is my best friend and true supporter....he loves the fact that I took control of my life and made it so much better. I have gained about 10 lbs this last winter and can't get it off even though I go to the gym twice a week and walk. Not to the extreme that I did last year, but try for three days a week, 4 miles each time....We now live out in the country so I now walk on the power lines rather than smooth city streets. and during the winter use the treadmill. I joined a gym with a friend who just had the surgery and had the fat calibration done and my body fat was only 12% before I started working out so I am not too worried about the slight weight gain.. 145 was alittle thin for me. I also am back to cooking for a family again so that makes a difference....It is hard to believe now, looking back, that it is over 4 yrs since I was so sick.....I am such a totally different person now...and so totally happy.....take care and I will be back soon

8/01/05 Wow 5 yrs already. its been a year since I have taken the time to update. So much has changed. I have maintained my weight (within 10 lbs). I remarried Sept 24th,2004 and am happier than I have ever been. Sometimes I look at my life and can't believe the changes since 2000. I have been through some medical problems this last year but it is all behind me now. Oct of 2004 they found that I had a 2cm kidney stone and had to go through the sound treatment 3 times just to break it up just before x-mas they went in and removed it through my back (not fun) I was told that this is one of the possible side effects of gastric bypass and the rapid weight loss. I would go through it again to have the healthy happy life that I live now. I still go to the gym 3 days a week and walk. I live and eat healthy, and feel great. Life is good. Take care all

3/18/09 OMG its been almost 4 yrs since I have posted......so much has happened....where to start.....In Jan 06 I was admitted into the hospital for a hernia of my fake belly button....after CT-Scan I was told that I had Crohns disease....started remicade infusions in February 06....over the next 2 years I received over  a dozen infusions, at 6+ grand each....I WANTED TO DIE I WAS SO SICK.....missed one of my sons wedding due to sickness....was hospitalized about 10 times.....finally got fed up with GI Dr and got second opinion and found out I was misdiagnosed !!!  Been a year now and I am just starting to feel like me again... Oh I found out that all that time I had e-coli.......21 days of antibiotics and all gone...Now life is good again....still fighting to get my endurance back, but it will come with time....but I am at least off all the drugs....Gosh so many drugs.....The last time I was admitted to the hospital I was sent home with liquid morphine.....(scary)  My weight is still about the same....I love being thin, I love being a diet controled diabetic rather than on meds,  I will add some new pic's.....My sis-in-law had rny bypass on Jan 29th and is already down almost 40 lbs.....So wonderful to see.....

OMG 17+ yrs.  I guess I am officially a success story.  So many changes.  The dx of crohns was miss dx....yup two yrs of poison pumped into me.  I survived standing strong, the marriage didn't but that's another story.  I am hovering right around 150lbs.  I attempt to walk at least 3 miles 3=5 days a week. Life is good.....

July 9, 2018   been having stomach and intestinal issues.  Lost about 20 lbs with these issues.  Turned out to be  e-coli on antibiotics getting better pretty quick.  I kept walking through it all as much as possible.  Think I need to put 10 or so back on...believe me it will happen..life is good......
