I am 32yrs old, married, with a beautiful son. I have battled with my weight my entire life and plan to have WLS. I have chosen Dr. Facundus to be my surgeon. I started this journey last year and was denied by my insurance company. I had a weight loss attempt in 2002 that brought my BMI below 40, but high enough with co-morbid conditions to be approved. I have been trying for 4 months to get my records from my physicians office to sent in to my surgeon. Last year, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Prior to that I have had polycystic ovarian syndrome.

My weight is a burden emotionally, physically, and socially. Most of the time, I feel trapped in this body and need to change.

I have had a little trouble with Dr. Facundus' staff regarding the requests for my records. I sent in release forms and they were in the office but not forwarded on... weeks later... no answer... no input....called again....they had not heard anything and when I inquired the insurance person was quite rude.

I am being helped now by another person in the office and hope for the best. I finished my 6 months weight loss attempt last March... yet if I do not get the records ... or approved.. then I will have to repeat the 7 months.. again and pay more. .. I hope to get this going.

My husband is supportive, yet he still believes that I can lose the weight on my own. He does not realize that this is a life long battle of yo yo diets and weight losses.. followed by regain plus more. That is how I got here.

Hopefully I will receive additional services from the physician's office in order to get the documents that I need to make this happen.

We will see what happens.. in the meanwhile I am trying weight watchers and my husband is helping me.
