The Journey Begins.....

I've been reading the message board for a couple of weeks now and really like what I see there. The support is unbelievable and the info is outstanding! How fortunate we are to have a site such as this as we go through this roller coaster of WLS. I went two weekends ago to an information seminar in Gainesville GA. Even though that is a little over 2 hours from me I've done my homework and know I'm in good hands with Dr Procter and Dr Richard.
As of TODAY I have my very first Drs appointment!!!!! On July 5th I'll be going to the hospital there for an educational forum then that afternoon will have a consult with Dr Richard. I'm so relieved to be on my journey to a healthier and happier me!! One little hurdle that I am looking at hopping over now is to get the go-ahead letter from my PCP. He is all for the surgery but there are some lifelong medications that I take that he had to check on the absorbtion rate. It's possible I may be able to crush them, or move to a liquid form, or possibly even switch to something that is within the same class of meds but different texture. ANYHOW...I have an excellent PCP so I know he will come up with something, I'll just feel better when I have that letter in my hand.
