Things are going great.  I am still swimming at the pool, even though it is a little cold when I first get in.  But I am still enjoying it.  I have bought a bike and I ride it around the block when I can't get to the pool.  I will go to the gym to work out when it gets really cold.  I have been shopping for new bras, pants, jackets, and warmer shirts.  I am now wearing size XL shirts (size 18) and size 10-12 pants.  I have never been this thin since before I had my son 37 years ago.  I don't know how to act or feel about this sometimes.  My weight loss has been slow for the last 6 weeks but I am trying not to be discourged or disappointed.  I know I am doing everything I should be so I guess when the scale is ready to move it will.  I want to lose at least a hundred pounds by my year date.  I have 20 more pounds to go in 3 1/2 months.  I hope I can do it.

6 Month Check-up

Sep 06, 2008

Last Friday, August 29th, I went for my check-up.  I didn't get to see Dr. Lord, I talked to the PA.  He was nice enough and answered all my questions and concerns.  I have lost 67 pounds and have lost 49% of my excess weight.  My labs were great.  My cholestol was down to 145.  That is the lowest it has even been.  He wanted to me to stop drinking my protein shakes and start getting all my protein from my food.  I told his that was hard for me because I got full to fast to get in all in.  He suggested trying to eat 5-6 smaller meals and see how that works.  We also talked about my disappointment about not losing more weight.  He said that I shouldn 't worry about the numbers and just concentrate on feeling better and keeping up the water arobics and keeping active.  I was also reminded about how much better I was feeling since losing all the weight.  I do feel 100% better, and I am grateful for that so far.  This is the happiest I have ever felt about myself and I am enjoying every minute of it.

Last week I reached the double nickle.  But I feel younger than I have in ten years.  I can't believe that I feel so good!!!  I went and did my bloodwork for my six month visit last Saturday.  I go to see Dr. Lord at the end of the month.  I hope I get a clean bill of health.  So far I doing great and no problems.  I am still going to the pool at least 5 times a week and even walking the neighborhood.  Had to buy some more new clothes but hit some really great sales.

I just weighed in at TOPS and now I am 178.  It's going down!!!!!  Everyone at the meeting was telling me how good I am looking.  One of these days maybe I will start believing it.  I finally bought some new clothes.  It makes a big difference, I like getting in smaller sizes.  My daughter said that she is waiting for me to lose enough so that we can wear the same size.  Maybe in another 30 pounds or so.  But I think our taste is pretty different so I don't think she will like to many of my clothes.  I am getting closer to being half way.

I weighed in tonight at my TOPS meeting and I am now 182.  I have lost 50 pounds.  Now I am starting to feel like a real loser (winner).  I really need to buy some new clothes, all my pants are falling off.  I am going to water arobics 3 times a week and going to the pool to exercise another 2.  Being at the pool is really helping me relax.  I am having a hard time at work.  I wish I could retire but I have at least another 10 years.  I wish I could at least get another job or that some of the trouble makers at work would get one.  Beside work my life is really going great.  I feel great and I am really having a great time with all my friends and activities.

I am doing pretty well.  Down 45 pounds.  I am starting to feel so much better.  I just started going to PAC and on Friday I started my water arobics class.  It was really great.  I also can go over there and swim when I want to and use the fitness machines.  I was so so bored of just walking on the treadmill.  I hope this speeds up the weight loss process.  I guess I am just a little impatient.  I am now down to 186 and my goal is 115.  I guess I will get there one of these days.

I really enjoyed meeting some of the board members on Tuesday night.  Thanks for being so friendly!  It really makes me feel better to know that you all are out there.  Everyone looks great!!!  Things are busy here at work and home.  If I am not working I am going to meetings or working at the church nursery.  Weekends go by just too fast.  I been walking and drinking my protein.  I am starting to notice the weight loss with my clothes and my engery levels.  I am looking forward to everyday to see how much better I feel.  I have lost 35 pounds but I want to at least get close to 40 before I go for my 3 month check up in two weeks.  I hope I can do it.

I am 9 weeks out from surgery today.  I finally hit onederland on Monday.  I have been losing weight at a slower rate than most of the people so far but I am satisfied with losing 33 pounds so far.  I haven't had any problems so far.  I am drinking 1 or 2 protein shakes a day and taking all my vitamens and calicum with not too much trouble.  I haven't weighed this less in almost 15 years.  I have been excising about 3 times a week and I am starting to have more energy.  I have been reading about all the people on the forum but I haven't been brave enough to post anything yet, one of these days I will.
