My name is Barbara and I'm from S.C. I am 34 years old with a 14 year old son (who will be driving in February?!)..IS THERE A SUPPORT GROUP FOR THAT? LOL.. I have always been a little heavy growing up. I always seemed to be one of the largest in my classes at school but as I got older I realized that my whole family is large. They're all big boned ane even the women are large. When I got married and pregnant, my weight that I put on with my pregnancy I could never seem to take it off. I was hanging in there around 218-225. And then a year ago I quit smoking and I really packed on the weight. Over four to five months I put on weight and ended up at 251. This was the largest that I had ever been. I started having acid reflux problems almost every night and had a horrible time with it until I had some tests done and realized that I had a hietal hernia. That's when my doctor referred me for the bypass surgery. I also had my hernia removed. I had surgery on December 8th, 2006 and am now 3 1/2 weeks out.
