Huntington Memorial Hospital (COE)

"I never had to wait more than 10 minutes for any appointment. Staff was friendly and professional. I was impressed and felt well cared for."

David Lourie

"I first met Dr. Lourie at the seminar which he and his colleague Dr. Powell require all prospective patients to attend. He seemed very personable and professional. Seminar attendees received extensive information about the risks of obesity, the history and types of surgeries available, the risks of surgery and Dr. Lourie's particular experience and complication history. At our first meeting he was again very professional and seemed open to my questions. He is not warm and fuzzy but seems to be extremely knowledgeable and I feel confident about his skills and his approach to WLS and after care. The staff is very nice, but the coordinator, Cynthia, can be hard to get a hold of and often does not return calls. I had to stay on top of things to make sure that testing moved along and that I got a surgery date. Dr. Lourie was present before and after surgery to answer my questions and I have been happy with his level or receptivity and availability. He even drops in now and then to the support group meetings which he encourages his patients to attend pre and post op. He has a very structured after care program and I have felt that I have been well educated in what to expect and how to eat to speed healing and promote maximum weight loss. I would recommend Dr. Lourie and his group to anyone. "

Gary Vidor

"Dr. Vidor seemed more preoccupied with his payment and insurance matters than with the evaluation. He seemed to be a poor listener and poorly organized which was frustrating. "
