Well, really my story is like so many Ive read here. I have been overweight my whole life. I come from a family of country, down home, cooks and food was never scarce in my home. I have tried all the diets, pills, gimics but either never lost ar lost and then gained back even more. I came very close to this surgery years ago as there happened to be one bariatric surgeon in my small hometown. Luckily everything for a reason I suppose, the dr quit doing the surgery as he could only do it open and lap was the new thing. At the time I was upset and begged him to make me his last one but he said no. He did refer me on to a great amount of dead ends and a few years of getting nowhere made me give up I guess but then I found a few good leads some of which took me to OH! Thank God!
After a struggle, I got things on the ball. I have a great family dr, who has great staff. My papers were sent of to OHIP Dec.10/07. I heard from my Drs office that OHIP needed more info on the 10 then I heard that I had been approved on Dec 28/07.
Wow those 18 days seemed like forever.
