New to Obesityhelp

Good Morning to all.  I am new to using obesityhelp.  I am hoping to find others to help encourage me and give me advice and maybe at times a slap upside the head for doing something wrong.  I should start off telling about myself.
I am Dawn, and I had Gastric Bypass surgery on April 7th, 2008.  So I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary.  I had my surgery done in Redding California, at Shasta Regional Medical Center, Dr Mark Nichols was my surgeon.  All in all things went fine with my surgery...But I learn a hard lesson about 4 months out..if you have thyroid problems before surgery, make sure that it is checked soon after surgery.  I wasn't checked until 4 months out and my thyroid was WAY HIGH and messed up.  It has taken most of the last 6 months getting it back into range...with that and Type I diabetes, it has been a struggle for me to get the weight off.  I am now back on track with the program I am to follow, and once I can get out walking again, I know the weight will start coming off again.  I really had hoped to be at a lower weight by 1 yr, but I just can't beat myself up over it.  I am proud of the 40 lbs that I have lost since leaving the hospital.  I just hope to get another 50-60 lbs soon...
