Ahhh...where to begin!! I have been heavy since I was a young teenager. I have tried every diet in the world without success...or I'd take some weight off, and put it right back on. It took me quite some time to actually decide to go thru with having bariatric surgery. It is definitely a huge decision to make! I was 277 when I went in to the surgery room....I had a few complications with my surgery and landed in the hospital for 22 days out of a month!! If you know me, nothing goes easy for me...so I should have expected it! After all was said and done though, I had so much energy as the weight started coming off, I have felt so good (for the most part) over the past year....and then the troubles began again. I started getting sick to my stomach a lot...pain in my belly at all times....I knew something wasn't right. So once again, I ended up in the hospital!! I was in about 2 weeks this time. They decided I had 2 hernias and possibly a third (internal). So, Dr Huse wanted to do exploratory to find out the problem. He then tested my gall bladder and decided it too was coming out during surgery!! So I have about a 4 to 5 inch incision once again on my belly...,.surgery was completed and I'm home. I am now on my road to recovery. In the past 14 months, I have lost 117 pounds..I have gone from a size 20/22 to a size 6/7!! I feel great! I have never been this small...I love the fact that I can shop at "normal" stores! I would like to lose a few more pounds and eventually have skin removed....but isn't that the story for most of us?? :) I have an amazingly supportive boyfriend who is happy with my body just the way it is...but he says if the skin removal is what I want, he'll help! How luckiy I am to have him!!!
