"I met Dr. Oldham today. I am so glad I went ahead and ignored the negative comments about not being able to see him, or that the follow-up care was bad. First of all, to address the negative comments, you have an option of seeing Dr. Oldham for follow-up appointments OR a Nurse Practitioner, EVERY SINGLE TIME. My expectation was that, Dr. Oldham is a surgeon. Of course he will follow his surgery, that is expected. But to expect for him to see you all the time as if you are visiting your primary care physician doesn't make much sense to me. He is a surgeon, he performs SURGERY. Now that that is cleared up. I'd like to give a review :)
I met him today, and he was extremely nice. I felt like he sincerely wants to help me in my situation. I don't believe my situation is unique, but he expressed empathy for my situation and that made me feel good. He was educational, informative and caring. He's good looking too. LOL. He looks just like his picture. The staff was very nice. When I spoke with the insurance lady, she was very helpful to me and explained the best course of action. Given my first experience with this surgeon, my feeling was that the whole staff, just like most other offices affiliated with the Baptist network, such as Baptist Medical Associates, Baptist Hospitals....etc, live up to a standard that can't be touched by any other hospital in the state of Kentucky."
