Life so far
Apr 05, 2007
It has been 5, almost 6 weeks since my surgery. Tonight I had a dinner party for 6 people which is the first time I have had a group of people over for dinner in probably 3 to 4 years. I made foods that I could eat and everyone enjoyed the meal. We played a board card called Sequence and had great fun. I was so pleased with everything, I am thinking of having another dinner party next week!
So far I have lost 34 pounds which everyone says is great. I feel more energy than I have felt in years. My stomach area still reminds me that I had major surgery - some pressure, a lot of itching and some general discomfort at times. I am having trouble sleeping more than 2-3 hours at a time but I wasn't a very good sleeper before the surgery either. My breathing has improved greatly since being released from the hospital. I started out with having to take some form of oxygen with me at all times; now I hardly use it. I went to the lung doctor the other day and he said that I could stop all medication except a daily dose of singular. In all, I have gone from 15 pills a day down to about 5 pills a day.
