This pre-op diet has been very hard. I have "cheated" a couple of times and that is a bad start. But I this is the first time in a long time that I have actually felt my stomach as possibly empty? It is a strange and new feeling, but as Dr Wolff said to me...hunger is your friend.
This is my first surgery ever, and I am so nervous and frightened by that part of this. It can't be as easy as some people might have it sound. But my family is supportive so I will have help.
My family is trying hard to adjust to the "new" me of not just being able to be part of a feast most nights at dinner. This was something we shared, but now we are trying to find new things instead...movies, games, projects. It is disorienting for us but we will all learn to change. My husband says it is good for him too not to have so much food around. So, this has been good all around.

Finally, I am also nervous that I have always been a fairly healthy person...so I am a little worried about the saying "if it isn't broke...don't fix it" but I do have a weight problem and need to fix it before I do have serious issues other than not being able to fit in the rides with my youngest son and usually watching everyone else have some fun. Although, I did enjoy taking the pictures of their smiles!
