Okay, here I am again and I can tell I am really not going to be very good at this blogging thing. It's almost Christmas....yay!!!! I cant wait till tomorrow. We always open our gifts on Christmas Eve, I know most everything I'm getting but it's still so exciting to tear open those packages. We are having King Crab for dinner, not sure what else but with crab who needs anything else. Christmas day I'm cooking a turkey breast, m potatoes, stuffing, rolls and my famous green beans.....not a casserole I believe those things should be banned from the planet. I will probably only be able to eat one bite of each but who cares its Christmas. I have really been on a stall since Thanksgiving and have only lost about 5 pounds since then but who cares again it's the holidays and I am not going to beat myself up over it. I had this surgery, it works as long as I work with it and thats that. Hubby had the band and was due for his first fill but he didnt want to get it before the holidays so we put it off till after the first. He has put on 3 pounds since Thanksgiving so I feel like I'm doing pretty good here.

Well there was no turkey in this house today but I did put a cornish hen in the crockette and made some instant mashed potatoes and bottled chicken gravy. It was AWESOME and I think I consumed an entire thigh off that lil bird.....LOL That is really alot considering I am still on mushies and can only consume about 1/3 cup of food at a time. My husband who had the band 12 days later was able to eat half the breast and about a cup of mashed potatoes. He is loosing good but I can see early on that the VSG was definately the best choice for me. We are both down 30 lbs as of today.....yay us!!! Oh and I put a picture on here not my best but it sure beats that guy with the question mark on his head :)

Okay here I am trying to catch up.
At the last minute the insurance comapany came through and said they would authorize the VSG because of the medical problems with my liver.....Whew, I really did not want the band. I'm not knocking it interely I would have taken it had they not allowed the sleeve but honestly all the talk I hear about sliming, can't swallow ones spit, gurgling and all really wanted to send me running.
I am now 9 days postop and I am down 19 pounds from the start of the post op diet. I cant believe it 19 pounds OMG it would have taken me months to loose that any other way. I keep imagining my pounds in packages of ground beef. I can already see a difference in my face. I hear alot of people say that they look at themselves but can not see a difference but wow I can actualy see my jaw line coming back into the here and now. I also can't believe the difference in my clothes already......just amazing!! I am so happy I had this done and all the liquids I have been drinking and the pain which was not all that bad for those couple days were way , way worth it already.
