Trinity Medical Center (COE)

"I didn't have the best experience with this hospital and I hope I am never a patient there again. First it took 5 nurses and 6 sticks just to get my IV started, shouldn't they be trained to do this?? I got back to my room around 6:30pm after my surgery and a VERY good nurse who helped me get up and walk, fixed my bed that the tech who pushed me up was too incompetent to do, and was very attentive. The night nurse was equally attentive when she had time to be, but the fact was that she was the only nurse on the wing and had no nurse tech's help which is absurd. You can forget getting any help from the abundance of day shift nurses. I once pressed the nurse call button three separate times over a period of 45 minutes before anyone ever came to check on me. My mother left to go get a drink and said there about 8 nurses and tech's standing around the desk talking and shooting the breeze. If I found my employees behaving in this manner I'd fire every one of them. To top it all off the hospital had my birthday wrong when they submitted my insurance claim and completely omitted an entire form that should have been sent in which caused my insurance to initially deny the claim. Rather than anyone at the hospital double checking their information they send me a bill for $67k!!! After calling my insurance company and figuring out the solution and having them call the hospital it should finally be resolved... i hope!"

Scott Pennington (COE)

"Dr. Pennington and his staff have been great! I was scheduled with another surgeon who "took an undetermined leave of absence" just days before my surgery date. I had a choice of a few doctors his office would refer me too and after doing some research I settled on Dr. Pennington. They were very understanding in realizing I had already "jumped through the hoops" with my previous surgeon and fit me in very quick. My initial appointment was on Tuesday and they scheduled my surgery the following Monday afternoon. His office staff is great and very attentive whenever you need something from them; also fairly quick to return my phone calls. Dr. Pennington is very knowledgeable and was happy to answer any question I had. He has a great bedside manner and easily calmed my nerves before surgery. They stress the importance of aftercare and followup appointments. There is a psychologist, dietician, fitness instructor, as well a lab right in the office which makes things very accessible and easy. I am very happy I chose Dr. Pennington as my surgeon and would recommend him by far over other surgeons I have met with. The biggest downside is the fact that he only operates at Trinity. My hospital experience was far less than desirable, but I'm not gonna get into that."
