Had my pre-admission testing done today. All is o.k. to go ahead with the surgery.

My employer called today to say that the note from Dr O'Malley's office says I will be having major abdominal surgery. That's not specific enough. I told him that I don't mind saying it is for gastric bypass, but I think that is very personal and I don't see why they need it in writing. If there are confidentiality laws that hospitals have to follow, how come the employer can be so insistent on exactness?

I attended my last pre-op support group meeting last night. I'm really glad that I went. It is a genuine blessing to belong to that group and to have all the information from Obesityhelp.com. Today I received a very encouraging e-mail from Eric Klein with lots of good advice and tips on getting ready for my surgery day. I am so very glad that my PC pointed me in this direction! Less than two weeks to go. I am a little nervous, but definately not scared.

Just got off the phone with Dr. O'Malley's office. Blue Choice just approved my surgery! I am so thankful! Now I just have to count down the days and hope there are no last minute emergencies for Dr. O'Malley

Only 22 days to go. My biggest fear now is that it will be postponed at the last minute. I've heard that sometimes emotions go a little haywire right after surgery. My youngest daughter and her family will be moving to Atlanta just 10 days before my date. Will I be crying because they are gone or because of the drastic change the surgery will bring? I hope I'll be able to tell the difference.
