9-7-05 Received denial for WLS in the mail today. Denied because of an exclusion in my policy. I was expecting this and plan on hiring an attorney to help me appeal.
9-11-05 Well, I haven't posted much so far. I should start somewhere. I am a 28 yr old wife and mother of two beautiful children. I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I am now 5'4" and 260lbs = miserable! I have research WLS and my insurance until I am blue in the face. I seems like this has consumed me. Now the real battle starts, trying to get approval. I have an attorney to represent me.

9-30-06 WOW! It has been one year and what a battle. NO approval with insurance. I am now able to self pay for my surgery and that is exactly what I am going to do. I am hoping for a date in Nov 2006.

1-6-07 (263lbs) Well, I am home and have been battling some terrible gas pains. I am so exited that it is over and all is well. Dr. Naaman said that my insides were beautiful and it took him 22mins. to do my surgery. Today the pain has been more tolerable and I hope it just gets better from here. I have been home since thur: 1-4-07, one night in the hospital.
1-10-07 14 lbs lost (259lbs) I had my one week post op today and got my drain removed. I feel like I am a free woman.
2-2-07 27lbs lost (246lbs) Tomorrow is one month from my surgery. Feeling great!

2-16-07 35lbs lost (238lbs) Well, after lunch time yesterday I had what they think was a gal bladder attack. I was in pain until about midnight until it finally settled. I saw Julius (Dr's assistant) today and that is what he thinks. I am scheduled for two tests on Monday morning. One test is an ultra sound. I guess I may be getting my gal bladder removed very soon.
2-21-07 39lbs lost (234lbs) They were right! I will have to get my gall bladder out. I don't have stones, but my gall bladder is not functioning. I have an appoointment with Dr. Naaman on Thur March 1.

3-7-07 45lbs lost (228lbs) Losing slowly, but surely. Gall Bladder surgery scheduled for 3-14-07 maybe I will drop a few more lbs due to the surgery.

9-9-07 108lbs lost (165lbs) Still feeling great!! Haven't been this size in a long time. Just bought a new home and will be closing this next week. I thank God every day for giving me the means for this surgery and the family to support me.
