Jul 15, 2010

well not much to tell here ive hit my oh i feel like givin up already point lol...i really feel like a circle here...medicaid says no we wont pay til you do a six month diet and the surgeons say no we cant have you as a patient til insurance approves it so id really appreciate any help on the the steps that i am suppose to take now. Im calling my pcp tomorrow to see about him monitorin the diet and ive been hearing about a drug called apidex or adipex forget which way it goes. its suppose to suppress the appetite people say they have seen good results sooooo thinking about asking about that too.  well i sign off for now as i have nothing more to say at the moment..goodnight all!!

found drs

Jul 06, 2010

well got some good news today...found two surgeons that will take medicaid..one in spartanburg dr ross and the musc weight loss surgery team in charleston.  I have a seminar scheduled for july 21 in spartanburg although honestly im not sure where id rather go...charleston is charging 250 program fee so that may be the breaking factor unless i found out they are so much more better than the one in spartanburg. If anyone has had experiences good and bad with these please let me know. im also torn on whether i want to go gastric bypass or lapband I didnt think i had a choice with medicaid but the nice lady in spartanburg told me that i do. IM hoping to keep the courage up to go thru with this and stick to this six month diet. well must go for now..hope to make more friends on here soon cause i think for now im talkin to myself lol

big fat waste of time

Jul 05, 2010

well went to riverside surgical seminar today only to find it abig ol waste of time for some reason they do not accept medicaid as primary insurance only secondary.. and if i had the money to come out my pocket for this surgery umm i wouldnt need medicaid...duhh....I dont understand how they brag about how professional they are and caring and one of the biggest best centers here in the SE but you wont take medicaid patients...but medicare you do take ..medicare which covers the elderly who not being mean are towards the end of life and only benefit from this for a short period of time.  If you were really caring drs you would accept all forms of insurance if your goal was to help people. its very frustrating...been callin charleston and spartanburg where ive read some of you say they do take medicaid only to find out that no they dont ..awaiting dr ross office to call me back and the ones in charleston are not in today due to the holiday weekend.  I hope I can find a surgeon to perform but if I dont i guess it wasnt meant to be or i can wait til im 55 and can get on medicare to get it done!!!!!

seminar scheduled

Jul 01, 2010

got the call today from my pcp office...they told me to call the office of riverside to schedule a seminar first. So i called and I go monday to that..got a little discouraged during the sign up because they asked for my insurance and i told them it was medicaid and she goes they dont take medicaid but you can still come to the seminar and they will talk with you about the insurance stuff..well my pcp knew i only had medicaid so i dont know why he would refer me there if they dont take it. I definitly can not come out of pocket for it or finance it so I hope something can be done with the medicaid as payment.  Im a little nervouse about having and not possibly not having the surgery. IM terrified of needles but im also terrified of dying too soon due to obesity.  so fingers crossed and prayers going up and hopefully blessings coming down!!!

Jun 28, 2010

well a year ago i joined this site and forgot al about it lol..found it again lookin for information on lapband surgery. I am ten lbs lighter than last sign in but took a year to get that off.  My family dr has referred me to riverside surgical in lexington for an evaluation i guess you could say.  I am on medicaid so i dont know how far my journey is going to go. I really hope it is approved and i can lead a healthy happy lifestyle. my son deserves a mom that can do things with him other than watch tv and eat. I recently had a sleep study and the conclusion on that was i dont have sleep apnea but something called restrictive airflow and snoring...along with periodic limb disorder.  I also have horrible back pain all my life and possible pcos.  my thoughts are erratic right now it late at night lol..just wanted to put some more info out there about myself...off to bed now ...good night and god bless!!
