I have struggled with my weight all of my life! I was a heavy child, a heavier adolescent, even heavier teenager, and heavier yet adult. It seems I have been on one diet or another all of my life. I have done phen-fen, Weight Watchers, the cabbage soup diet, doctor supervised diets, and dexatrim, just to name a few. You name it and I have probably tried it. I have lost weight with each of these only to gain what I lost back and then some. The year of 2008 was one of the best years of my life yet I was unable to enjoy it as fully as I would like to have because of my weight. I hit my highest recorded weight of 431 lbs shortly after I married the love of my life. He makes me want to lose the weight and regain my health. So in October 2008 I attended a weight loss surgery seminar and decided that was the right course of action for me to finally lose this weight. I started on a 6 month doctor supervised diet in November to meet one of the requirements for insurance to cover the surgery. During the 6 month diet I did Weight Watchers again and also took Phentermine prescribed by my doctor. Once again I yo-yoed through the 6 months. I was approved for gastric bypass surgery at the end of June 2009 and surgery was scheduled for July 29, 2009. I feel like my surgery date was the beginning of a whole new life for me! I am looking forward to the future as a healthier person!!!
