Hey!
...My story...UH! I feel like its 24 years in the making ... I have been over weight my entire life. I started my journey with my first appointment about WLS with my PCP on 06/26/2014. My insurance requires surgery clearance from SIX specialists: Gastroenterology, Psychiatrist, Nutritionist, Endocrinologist, Pulmonologist, and Cardiologist; in addition to labs and a Sleep study. I have completed all except Gastro which is scheduled for 08/06/2014. Then on 08/12/2014 I have an appointment with the surgeon to submit it all to insurance for approval.
I am so nervous. I am trying not to get excited because I am scared I am going to get denied. I want this so bad for me and my 8 month old daughter. I have never been skinny or fit so I can't even imagine what I will look like.
I live in California and would love to meet people in my area or anywhere for that matter.
I do not have much support at home so any and all types of support is welcomed!

I called my doctor on 8/06 and they said they could get me in early on 8/8/14. It was all sent into my insurance and APPROVED on 8/11/14!!!!!
My surgery is scheduled for 8/25!!!!!
It is all happening so fast. The nurse said they were all booked up until September but she would get me in early because I got all my requirements done so fast. I can't believe it!!!!
Keep it up everyone! I seriously annoyed my surgeon's nurse and my pcp just to make sure everything was done. I called every specialist to make sure things were faxed. Be pro-active in your journey and it will pay off!!!!!!! <3 GOOD LUCK!
