"06/22/04:He seemed to be very knowledgeable and up-front. I participated in a class with 10 other potential patients, and then met one on one with him after the class. He explained the different types of surgery well, and also covered the risks.
He was somewhat "clinical" in his approach, but was also very concerned that all of my questions were answered.
I'm very anxious about the insurance. I had had my doctor records sent to him ahead of time, and was hoping that he would have looked them over and could give me an idea of whether it looked like the information was adequate to meet the insurance company's requirements. He obviously hadn't seen my information yet though, so I'm in the "waiting to hear" phase.
The office staff were very friendly and helpful.
06/30/04: The office staff have been very helpful with answering questions. The insurance coordinator has been especially helpful. I also received a packet in the mail today with a letter confirming that my information had been sent to the insurance company. The packet also included a call log to record information from any calls with the insurance company. It also included key points about different insurance companies based on their experience with them. Also included was information on next steps after approval, a sample appeal letter if it's needed, and a checklist of thing that have to be done."
