6 Year Anniversary
Mar 01, 2011
These have been the best years of my life! I've had ups and downs but I have never regretted having my surgery.
The worst part for me is the dumping, I just cannot eat sugar (negative reinforcement) not that I want to but when I eat it by mistake I pay for it. I also don't care for the sagging skin that I have and I don't have the resources to correct it.
The great part for me is that I have maintained my weight now for the 6 years, of course I have gained some but I have lost it. The reason I gained weight was because everybody was telling me that I didn't look healthy at my lowest weight (182 lbs, I was 305lbs pre-op). That really does play a mind game on you, DON'T LET OTHERS TELL YOU THAT! Watch the snacking and chew your food, exercise is another way to keep it off but I don't "exercise" I am just active in my outdoors life. I hunt quite a bit and that requires a great deal of walking, and here in PA its up hill alot. I even go out in the winter in the snow and let me tell you walking in the snow can be very exhausting.
My life has changed greatly in the last 6 years.

Five Year Anniversary
Feb 28, 2010
Today marks my five year anniversary. It hasn't been a very easy five, a total lifestyle change with a great deal of ups and downs. There have been several changes to my body, some good and some not so good, but I have gotten five years olderbut I haven't gotten fatter!
When I started this journey I weighed in at 305, I lost down to 180 and everyone around me thought I looked sickly. Truely I feel really good with myself around 190-200 I am 215 right now. I did go up to 230 and was discusted with myself and decided to start again with everything I had learned. Water, water, water, exercise, exercise, exercise.
Enjoy your journey, I hope it is a good one.
