I had hernia surgery April 11th and am now doing very well.  Saw Dr. Huse today and he says it's doing very well......it was my 6 week appt.

I weighed 146 and have a 34" waist....WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!

My goal is 140, so I'm getting sooooooo close.  It feels so good being this small again.  I only got down to 158 when I had VBG surgery 11 yrs. ago.  I'm wearing a size 10 jean and may be able to get into a size 8, since they are getting loose.

I'm not very good about blogging, as you can tell, but I just had to now, since I'm so close to my goal and am feeling so good about it.

I haven't taken anything for diabetes since the 2nd day after my surgery. My cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure is good too.  No meds other than Lexapro and vitamins and calcium!!!!  It's great!!!!!

I have not been too good at blogging or anything on my profile page.  I usually forget about it.

I am off all meds, except the vitamins, etc. that'll I have to take forever.

When I saw Dr. Huse Mar. 26th he thought I may only have 10-15 lbs. to go.  I was 159 then and I'm 151 today.  YEAH!!!!!!!!

I did have hernia surgery April 11th.  I see Dr. Huse this afternoon to see how that's coming along.  I am so-o-o-o happy I had this surgery!!!

Well, I got my shower and I'm waiting for Dr. Huse to come in and tell me that I can go home.  

At 1:00pm he came in and released me.  Of course Kim (my sis-in-law) is coming with George (my hubby) because he worked last night (midnights) and hadn't had any sleep, so Kim is going to drive.

Finally......it's 5:30pm and they are here to take me home!  Yes!!!

It was so fun getting dressed since I am so swollen, not to mention the pain from my incision! 

At 6:00 tonight they took the port out.....I guess I'm doing okay!  Now they're going to take me back to the Bariatric dept.  It seems kind of weird since I'm probably going home tomorrow.   The doctors were very pleased at how fast I was recovering.  So am I.  At least I know that I won't have to have dialysis like they thought I might.

I'm finally peeing and my blood pressure is going up!  Yeah!!! 
I'm looking like a beached whale......I weigh 29 lbs. more than I did when I came in for the surgery......not good!

At least the doctors and staff are happy!

Dr. Huse came in at 7:00am to see me and Dr. Reeder came in around 11:00am.  The next thing I knew I was being wheeled down to ICU.  When I got there a port was put in and they started giving me alot of fluids.  





*  I know that I'm starting this a little late (Mar. 14, 2008), but I always procrastinate.....lol.

Had surgery at Clarian BariatricHospital in Indianapolis with Dr. Huse at 7:30am.  When I got there they rushed me right through everything.  
My surgery was a revision from a VBG to an RNY.  It only took about an hour.  Everything seemed to go really well, except I was having trouble urinating in my cathedar and my blood pressure was dangerously low.
The doc thought that it was from the IV and spinal that I was given.
