Happy Bandiversary To ME!
Jul 07, 2007
One year ago today I took the gigantic leap to make a drastic change in my health and well being. Today I look and feel like a new woman! This has been an amazing journey and I thank God every day for the opportunity to be healthier and happier. I have a wonderful support system and am very grateful to all who have cheered me on and given me their love and support.
My weight loss in the past few months has been VERY slow. I had hoped to have all of my weight off by now but am pleased with the results I have achieved. At my one year check up I told my doc that I wanted to revise my goal from 169 to 180 and he agreed. I am still very hopeful that I can reach that goal even though there are times when I wonder if my body will ever let go of these last pounds.
I have abandoned the advice of the dietician, as I am no longer willing to be on a diet. That is what got me in trouble in the first place. While she means well, I do not want to spend my life counting calories. I will instead work at maintaining a proper fill, follow the band rules the majority of the time and continue to exercise for 30 minutes 5-6 days a week. To me that is a lifestyle and not a diet and the way I want to live.
Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me on this journey. I love you all!

The Turtle Trudges On
Apr 15, 2007
April 15, 2007 My weight loss continues to be soooo sloooow! I got another fill last Tuesday bringing me to 6 cc. The Nurse Practitioner - Kim, suggested I see a Dietician for a metabolic testing appointment. Turns out I only burn 1460 calories a day doing activities of daily life. Not much! She has me on a 1200 calories a day to include 95 gms. of protein. My percentage of body fat is still 44% which seems unbelievable. I think it is actually 44% hanging skin! : ) According to the stats I need to exercise to burn 150-350 calories per day every day to lose 1 - 1 1/2 lbs. per week. I am using FitDay to track all my food and activity and hope to see some results soon!
The Scale Finally Moved!
Feb 23, 2007
After a month long plateau the scale finally moved! I am now at 208.8 in the morning without clothes. I finally got a scale that actually works and I calibrated it with the one at the PCP office where I of course weigh with clothes on. I am choosing to begin recording the weight on my own scale now, which means there is a "fudge" of about 2 lbs. sans clothes. However, I think that is okay since I never recorded my actual highest weight of 269.
Since I am compulsive, I worried that it would seem like "cheating" if I made that adjustment. However, I do want to know my real weight and not have to figure out clothing adjustments. Do you think I am a nut case? Perhaps so! At any rate, I am now 8.8 lbs. from onderland! That's my story and I am sticking to it. Can't wait to get there!!!

Dec 05, 2006
I received another fill today...an additional .75, bringing me to 4.75 in my VG band. I only had restriction for about a week and a half after the last one. I am really eager to get to my "sweet spot" and be there for awhile. This is fill #7 since getitng banded and I would like to settle in for awhile! No further weight loss, but I am hopeful that this fill will change that!

11/14/06
Nov 14, 2006
Today I got another fill of .5, bringing me to 4cc. For the last two weeks I have felt so empty and hungry so I am glad to have gotten some added. We are still being very conservative based on my past overfills. I am hoping to get close to the "sweet spot" soon. I did lose another 4 lbs. for a total of 37! This is a slow process but I am thrilled to continue moving in the right direction.
