My first weeks and advice request

Here I am, three weeks out from RNY. I had the surgery at Reston Hospital Center- which I can NOT encourage any more strongly against. I selected it as my surgeon performs most of his surgeries there, and it seemed like the safe and smart choice to do it in the most familiar environment for those working on my unconscious self. The pre-OR was super friendly and amazing. The OR I was obviously unconscious for. The PACU was ok. The floor care was horrendous. 

I spent one night in the hospital before coming home. At home, I spent one day sleeping and resting and then started right up with walking. By the 5th day, I was walking 3-5 miles daily- sore and exhausted after- but moving well. Week 2 my sister came to visit and we checked out a billion gyms near my house until we found a great fit. I hired a personal trainer and am getting my butt kicked twice weekly by her and three times a week by me. 

The hardest thing so far has been the mental reset. The small plate, the small quantity was initially depressing. I felt deprived and missed the junk food I can't eat. WTF?, right?! If your program is like mine was, with a poor focus on the cognitive aspect of this surgery, it can be an uphill battle, mentally. Because I was/am so frightened of slipping back into old habits, I came searching these message boards. I wish I could find the post to give due credit to the amazing woman who originally mentioned the book, but I can not. THE BECK DIET SOLUTION is the absolute most helpful thing I've done so far (second to surgery). Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is so useful for so much of our lives, and changing bad habits-- this is spot on and precisely what I needed to help me get my mindset right. 

I'm down 17lbs in three weeks and FEEL amazing.
