my name is angie, i am 25 years old and as long as i can remeber i have always been over weight. my heaviest weight was 298. last january i was diagnosed with a rare gentic disorder that only 126 people have ever had in the united states and the bad thing is i am the only one alive with this. so every couple of months they fly me to washington dc for testing. out there they couldn't get my pictures with ultra sound because of my weight so i go thur lots of othering testing. do you know how hard it is to get blood or an iv when you are this big? 15 pokes with a needle, ultra sound to try to find blood veins. then when they do find one they blew them up in my testing. that hurts. well when i was out there in july they told me about gastric bypass that it would be my best option. my doctors have been telling me that for years but i never wanted to listen until my gentic disorder. so i guess that is when i really took it seriously. i have a husband named kevin, who wasn't very support of when i told him about it. (or is atleast that is what the phyic said. so they suggested marriage counceling. i tell you one thing that helped a lot. now he goes to doctor appointments with me, reads all of my paperwork, watches big medicine on the discovery channel, and has been there a lot more, so if the doctor tells you to go to conceling trust me it works. i have a son who is 4 ( with attitude) and i have a 7 year step daughter who lives with her mom most ofthe time. i work for my parents they own 2 radio shack stores. my parents are very support of that is great bonous. well thanks for taking time to ready my story.
