Finally decided

Nov 10, 2014

After talking to Dr Smith with my wife and going over the options we decided on the vertical gastric sleeve. We had concerns over previous Nissan fundoplication that has been controlling my GERD for almost ten years. If you read about this type of option everyone says you have to have a RNY if you have had the fundo. Dr Smith reports a sleeve can be done with out taking the fundo down. We are going for this option due the severe GERD I had before

About me 59 male 5'5"  255 lbs and have 100 EBW , BMI 42.2 Struggle with breathing with light activity, Sleep Apnea, High Cholesterol, High Blood pressure, Family history of heart attacks and stroke.

Talked with Jenn who is going through a tough divorce, she does not want me to have the surgery.

Nick is glad we have not just jumped in and have done research and actually went to support group meetings. He is concerned there are no redos  once it's done there is a major lifestyle change. We talked about playing racquetball which we have not done since he was 10 years old, hes 34 now, so that is a great goal for us. I told him my gol for me is to go hiking. I want to hike to the top of Kennesaw mountain and take pictures of Kennesaw and the surrounding areas.

I would like to hike a week on the APL with a lot of planning and working out.

Davie tex'd he would be here if he could but told him it was no big deal

Debbie thinks I can loose 50 lbs and keep it off for long term dieting and working out

I have tried HCG injections  medifast nutrisystem and the most I lost was 33 lbs and I gained it all back.

This my chance to live another 20 years and enjoy it to the fullest.
