After a long year I am finally scheduled for my gastric bypass! It only took about a year because the first attempt I made with the 6 month supervised weight loss was with my family doctor and I did not know I had to be exactly on time each month for my appointments for it to count. About 7 months ago I began doing the 6 month diet with my surgeons office and it went perfectly. I had a couple speed bumps with insurance but sure enough I got the call from my surgeons office yesterday saying I was APPROVED! I called them today and we scheduled my date for May 14, 2013. I remember in the beginning of this journey I felt like this day would never come and I sort of still feel like it is never going to happen but it really did go by so fast looking back. I am so excited and scared at the same time. May 14, 2013 is the first day of the rest of my new life. :D
