Pre-op Day!

Well, today was good. Had my pre-op at 1:30 and everything is a GO for friday. Then headed to hospital to get my labs, EKG, xrays and pre-register. WOW...signed my life away...I look at it like I signed away the old me and onto a new journey!!! Still nervous. I know the risk and complications. i know my history ids difficult and they might have to do an open RNY if they get in there or can't get in there...but, I feel I will be fine. I would just like to ask everyone say a lil prayer for me. As I will always pray for those who ask and are in need themselves. Not looking forwward to the bowel prep..have done these before for other abdominal surgery.YUKY!!! So Wednesday is the start of the jello and clear liquids..oh well, get use to it, that will be life for at least 8 days after surgery...LOL...
Anyone who is about to go in to have theirs done, please feel free to contact me and we can chat and compare notes and just plain 'ol support one another!

Today has been a great day. I've met a few new friends here on OH site. New is GOOD. Getting more excited and a lil' nervous...surgery day is 6 days away. Spoke with Dr. Coirin today. I've had this dumb sinus headache for 2 days. Told me it was okay to take Tylenol. I felt really dumb calling him on a Saturday...but, I was told not to take ANY Motrin, Tylenol, Aspirin, etc for 2 weeks prior to surgery. But, all is well, got the okay to use it today and tomorrow! Already feeling better...headache is gone.
Well, Monday is pre-op visit with Doc and all labs work up at the hospital. Then surgery on January 29th!! Yay!! I think January 29th will be more than an anniversary day for me...it will be a birthday too. A re-birth day. A day of a new beginning in my life.

Well everything so far is a GO!!! The Pre-surgical nurse phoned me on Th 1/21/10 and we did the phone pre-op. I have to check into the hospital on Friday 1/29/10 at 5:30a.m.....for a 7 a.m. surgery...I'm nervous and excited at the same time. It has been such a long journey to this point, but so worth it! Monday 1/25 is my pre-op with Dr. Coirin and all my pre-op labs, xrays, etc the same day. Now I'm just working the kids schedules. I got 4. Mom and Dad are going to have them all while I'm in the hospital. Hope I'm only there 3 days. My cousin was in for 5 days, guess they wouldn't let her go till still passed gas. Sad though, with the H1N1 thing, the hospital will not allow anyone under 16 above the 1st floor! I just get to tallk on the phone to my kiddos.Too bad we all don't have video phones..LOL..I know it's gonna drive my 13 and 6 yr olds crazy not seeing me. Still, I'm doing this for ALL the right reasons!
Well, anyone seeing this, please say some prayers for me, my family and Dr. Coirin. Wish me luck
