Post op day 4, and I am still having incisional pain and back and shoulder pain, it hurts when I take in deep breaths sometimes. I was told that the pain in my back and shoulders is from the co2/air still trapped in my body from surgery and the irritation of the nerves in my diaphragm from co2 purposefully pumped into the abdominal cavity from the surgeon, in order to visualize the stomach and surrounding areas much better. Very standard procedure during laproscopic lap band placement. I have liquid hydrocodone with acetaminophen 7.5/500, I can have 15 ml every 4 to 6 hours. but it seems to just be making me sleepy and not relieving the pain as much as before. I am using gas X and tums to help with the gas pain, as well as walking often, I even walk around the block every morning. I feel less like a stabbing victim today though..lol...but I can't wait till my body is back to normal. I wish someone could give me some suggestions on how to deal with the pain I am having much better
