I have been overweight all of my life, it is a battle that I have been ready to take to the next level. In 2004, I was living in the Kansas City area of Missouri (where I spent the majority of my life). At that time, I saw Dr Harlan Opie in Olathe Kansas regarding an RNY. However, I was denied by my insurance company with my old employer. Even though the procedure was not a written exclusion, the procedure was considered an "implied exclusion."
The next year I was recruited by another financial institution, this one in North Carolina. So far, this appears to be the best move I have made.
