On Saturday, I completed my psychiatric evaluation, marking the last of the preoperative studies I need before my Lap Band surgery. It's been such a roller coaster ride over the last few months, with many new experiences...colonoscopy prep, full sedation anesthesia, echocardiogram, pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas (this one, I wouldn't mind if I never had again)...but finally, this coming Friday, I will have passed the 6 month waiting period required by the insurance company, and the procedure can be scheduled. I'm nervous about the surgery itself, of course, but otherwise, in my mind, I'm ready to move forward.
