El Camino Hospital

"Well, I felt the hospital quality has either reduced from 10 years ago or that there is some level of hostility towards people having this surgery. I don't mean all.. Everyone in Surgery area, recovery were fine. It was many of the nurses, especially RNs that I found to be mean and unaccomodative during the hospital stay. I had a horrible experience with one of them who I felt would literally stab me with the pain medication syringe. I felt so afraid that I requested an RN change because I just could not trust her. I found couple of other nurses to be of similar hostility levels and usually these were night nurses. However, the 10+ others I experienced with were just great. So, I would say, be very vigilant about the RNs at night there and demand change if they are trying to treat you like crap. It may be cases of hiring bad nurses but that could lead to trouble as well. When you are in a hospital, for any reason, you want to be able to trust that the people giving you care, understand what you are going through and are patient enough to work with you. If they cannot, how would you recieve good care? So, that's my take on it this time around. Would I go again there? Hmmm.. I would probably try them once more and see if things have changed.. If yes, I would stay but if not, after next time, I would look for another hospital. Thanks."

Barry Sanchez MD

"He seemed very young but very knowledgable. He was also very patient, friendly, and caring. He has actually bothered to call me when I was going through my "hesitations" and also made pro-active efforts to make sure to take any pre-cautions that my maybe needed are taken. He is definitely great and so far, my impression continues to be the same. The office staff is really good too. Yvette, his assistant is awesome and really knows her stuff on how to deal with insurance companies. Leave it to her capable hands to not worry about the insurance if she says, no need to worry, don't worry:) Dr. Sanchez emphasizes aftercare and pre op care a lot. I will update more after I return from surgery on March 1st:)"
