One Month Out...my whole life ahead!

Feb 21, 2011

I've been post-op for just over 4 weeks now and must say that during my pre-op phase, when I was imagining what it would feel like post-op...I was way wrong!

My incisions are healing relatively well, I eat like a normal person (just much less than a normal person) and I've learned a TON.

I just had my first fill this past Friday that went much better than expected. He put in almost 2cc of fluid in a standard (10cc I think) band. He is happy with my progress and I think he is about to bite his tongue in regards to me choosing the right surgery. He was pushing for a sleeve, I stuck to my guns with the band and have been happy so far.

I am learning more and more each day and have only had 2 times where I thought I was going to have to excuse myself to "unstick" something. Both times it took a productive burp and a little bit of water and we were back in business. Nothing too serious.

It's exciting to watch the numbers roll back on the scale. I am excited to be learning how much food I really need to survive...not nearly what I used to think was necessary. Learning has always been a passion of mine!
