So I called last week to schedule my consult with the nutrition and she informed me that they conducted MANDTORY nutrition classes. They are held once a month or so for THREE hours!!!! She told me that the one for this month was full an I blew a gasket! I'm trying to get all this preliminary shit done. Long story short: she gets me into the one for this month.

So I'm thinking that it was going to be some BS. It was quite the opposite. Some of the information we already knew ... but this lady was amazing. Nancy Lum from Dr. A's office. She had done Bariatric nutrition for another hospital practice for 8 years and came to this practice b/c the dietician was retiring. She has a sincerity and a passion for this work. The old adage goes: noone cares how much you know until they know how much you care. She cares and she provided EXCELLENT information. I meet with her for 1-on-1 session this coming week.

I'm still feeling really good about this decision. I joined Gold's Gym today. My goal is to be in as strong a condition as possible prior to surgery. When I come out of this thing I want to be moving.

I visited Dr. Averbach today and was very pleased. I was well-prepared for the consult and it looks like I will be scheduled for surgery the first week of August. My weight today was 399lbs. I have all of my pre-op tests scheduled.
